Re: Finding the cause of audio drop-outs ...

More likely is that you had a tape dropout; this will cause a break and sync would be lost in this case. Recording to cards solves this problem. You could pick up a used MRC1k fairly cheaply and mount it to your cam's accessory shoe with an adapter and record via FW. Yes I know this device, but reg...

Re: Finding the cause of audio drop-outs ...

Thanks. Look at the post written by acgold7 just before: he also confirms that the ZOOM H4n supplies 48V, so I probably have the solution to the audio drop out. The remaining pb will be to synchronise the video (recorded on the HC1) with the audio (recorded on the H4n): I fear to face some difficult...

Re: Finding the cause of audio drop-outs ...

So if it does 24V and 48V, the solution is probably to stop using the Beachtek and, instead , start using the ZOOM 4Hn with my current external BEYERDYNAMIC MCE-72-PV microphone. This should work , i will just have to remove the soundtrack from the HC1 , and replace it with the soundtrack coming fro...

Re: Finding the cause of audio drop-outs ...

showing that this problem seems to be common in the Sony camcorders world.... You seem to be right, unfortunately.... I have found no solution to the drop out problem on my HC1, and I suspect that changing the mechanism would cost a lot compared to the value of a new camcorder (and it is not sure t...

Re: Finding the cause of audio drop-outs ...

I also have a pair of HC1s but never had the drop out problem. only the fx7 in qec record mode What do you mean by "geq record mode" ? It may have something to do with starting and stopping the tape while recording. leave it recording til the end of the tape? coming out of standby mode mi...

Re: Finding the cause of audio drop-outs ...

Originally, no, but I have not been using the onboard mic for a Looong time ! I suppose that I have to test it : maybe I will record my TV for an hour, just to check if I get a few dropouts.... Interesting to ear that your FX-7 has the same issue: do you have a way to investigate if there would be a...

Finding the cause of audio drop-outs ...

Hi guys, I had posted on the previous HDV Info Forums the detailed config of my equipment but it seems that the messages cannot be accessed any longer (?). I use a Sony HC1 + Beachtek DXA-6vu + a BEYER MCE-72 microphone (the MCE-2 feeds the Beachtek and then the Beachtek is plugged in the HC1 input ...
