Re: Sony HXR-MC2000 AC Adaptor

You can basically use any Sony AC adapter with any cam as long as the plugs fit. They mix and match them all the time. As long as the voltages are the same it should work.

Re: Z1 Capture to External Hard Drive

No, because then you will have to render to a display format that isn't editable, with even more compression. I would highly recommend Googling HDVSplit. I would find out if it can capture to a drive you define (i.e. an external drive); can capture to a format the Mac can understand (i.e. .mov or Ap...

Re: Z1 Capture to External Hard Drive

You can't. Neither the Z1 nor HDV in general are designed for that and neither are the files they generate. And Hard Drives are dumb and wouldn't know what to do if you plugged a camcorder into them anyway. You must use proper capturing software -- like Premiere or another program designed solely fo...

Re: When will Handycam Sony FDR-AX100 go out?

But even with that, the early reviews on the AX100 say the footage is simply stunning, even when downconverted to HD.

Re: HDR FX 1000 FIRE WIRE PROBLEM

Oh snap. Looks like they closed late last year, but an email contact address is on their FB page. You could try writing Paul and see if he has a recommendation for you re: repair. Your only other safe bet is a Sony Authorized Service Center, which can be found on the Sony website. Or at least used t...

Re: HDR FX 1000 FIRE WIRE PROBLEM

No. If you (or perhaps the prior owner if you bought it used) fried your port you have very few options. None will save you much time or money. Sorry, but that's just the way it is for what you want to do with your FW situation. If your FW port worked you'd have more options, but then you wouldn't h...

Re: Video quality on TV from the FX7

I think we probably need to know more about your shooting settings as well as project settings in your editor and export settings as well. No way we can tell you what to change until we know what you are doing. But the short answer is no, there's nothing in the cam that should account for this unles...

Re: When will Handycam Sony FDR-AX100 go out?

Doughie, thanks for pointing out the correct math. This drives me crazy too. 1080 to 2160 is 2x. 4k refers to px wide, which is pretty sleazy in my mind because it implies lines.

When you hit "Post Reply," underneath the reply box should be a tab that says "Upload Attachment." You should be able to post pics that way.
