Re: Thunderbolt

Yeah I meant NAB, not CES. Lacie has adopted Thunderbolt also for their solid state hard drives. Rumors are the Canon and Nikon will use Thunderbolt for their high-end DSLRs. Frank, how fast will the fiber optic version be? I thought the current version was fiber optic.

Thunderbolt

Just wondering if anyone else thinks we should expect a Thunderbolt interface on any upcoming cameras to be announced at CES 2011. It would obviously speed up the workflow immensely.

Re: New Sony HDR-CX700V / HDR-CX560V / HDR-CX360V camcorders

The CX700Ve for PAL countries will do 25p, 50p, 50i - but it won't do 60i, 60p, 24p the CX700V for NTSC countries will do 24p, 60p, 60i - but not 50i, 50p, 25p This will be the case for all the Sony consumer HD camcorders. Nobody in NTSC countries will want to record in 50p or 25p but they may want ...

Re: Sony NXCAM 35mm - The real competitor for the AG-AF100

Raw???? on a DSLR??? You have got to be kidding! With a 4GB recording limit (FAT32), you will get 40 seconds of video in RAW (1080x1920 @ 24fps)! Wow, that would be so useful

Re: Sony NEX-VG10 (APS-C sensor, interchangeable lens)

I must have been sleeping under a rock to miss this one, I saw the rumors, but never saw this. http://www.hdwarrior.co.uk/2010/04/12/sony-shows-a-sdof-camcorder-at-nab/ Sony Pro confirms 35mm sensor in numerous camcorders across the range. It will be before next year's NAB. So APS-C/Super35 for cons...

Re: Sony NEX-VG10 (APS-C sensor, interchangeable lens)

11 lux is what is on Sony's website. That is at f/3.5. They need to have some f/2.8 zoom lenses and maybe some fast primes.

Re: Sony NEX-VG10 (APS-C sensor, interchangeable lens)

@Stephan, good write-up! Lack of true 1080/24,25,30,50,60p outputs, XLR inputs and having compressed lossy audio are big disappointments. We can only hope for a step-up model that takes care of these issues! I think everything but the compressed lossy audio will be addressed in another model. Can AV...

Re: Sony APSC E-mount AVCHD Camcorder

Cheers, and when I wrote it, I missed the link on the home page. I came in on the old link, and just went straight to the forums. I think it's very exciting times, and I guess we have to thank the video on DSLR craze. It makes you wonder what else is being worked on? 35mm CMOS XDCAM-EX camera?

Sony NEX-VG10 (APS-C sensor, interchangeable lens)

Hi guys, and thanks to the admin for making a comeback. I like not having a specific reference to HDV, it is a dead technology. I'm sure most have heard about this, if not, here it is. I suspect an NXCAM version would come out also. With 24mb/s recording, 1080p/60 and XLR inputs. I hope we can get m...
