Re: LANC adaptor
MA701HDV Its a good point Adam is making about tripods etc. On a related item -- i shot on a borrowed Manfrotto 701 HDV fluid head about a week ago and was super impressed with it, especially considering it only costs around US$160! Tripods, and video fluid heads are really important to smooth shoo...

Re: Live Broadcast & Streaming or Wifi Help Needed plzz
I have done live-streaming of events before. Go to a site like www.Ustream.com and try that. Basically you will need a device that has Wifi so it can send the video stream to Ustream and people can watch that live on any device that can connect to internet. For example an iPad or laptop, and then th...

Re: HDR-HC1: can camera settings be changed from the compute
I had the HC1000 which was effectively the Standard-Definition version of the HC1 (around 2005-vintage) and the LCD screen on that too failed after a few years use. Didnt work at all. Tape drive failed too, eventually. These things happen, usually its not economical to repair it, better to accept it...

Re: Canon XA10 and Sony NX5: which better image quality?
Adriano HAve you done some research into this? I would advise reading up test reports, and reviews, rather than just repeatedly starting threads asking which is better. What is important is which camera has the features and capabilities that are best for YOU and not for ohter people. Different peopl...

Re: Which is the best camera for video (for max 700 euro)
Some of those cameras are primarily stills cameras but also shoot video. Really i think you just have to consider your budget, think about what the key features that you need are for what you want to shoot, and read reviews, and read user opinions and make a choice. There's so many machines in your ...

Re: Panasonic HC-X900M Iris Control
If the camera was bought in an NTSC country, then the standard is usually 30fps (frames-per-second) (well, actually its 29.97fps..) and so the camera if left on auto-exposure will try really quite hard to maintain 1/60th sec. That is essentially a 180degree shutter (a term derived from the old days ...

Re: Sony HXR-NX30 low lux
no trick as far as i know, its the same, apart from in low-lux mode it ramps up gain to a high level, i think + 24dB. 1/25th sec *does* look a little different, but to me, the benefits of the extra 1 stop of light, far outweigh any mildly odd look. Its important the subject matter isnt moving too fa...

Re: Sony HXR-NX30 low lux
What is the shutter speed in low lux mode? The operating guide (p. 113) says 1/25. However, movement is very smooth, contrary to the jerky movement in regular (no low lux) shots with shutter speet 1/25. yes on a PAL-spec camcorder, the low-light mode will drop shutter speed by 1 stop. Normal shutte...

Re: Pinnacle 14 & file management
Good advice there from Stephan on keeping the ISO image files. Yes obviously they are by their nature quite big files, but theyre very useful for burning new DVDs especially older DVDs. Older DVDs can deteriorate or get small scratches on them very easily. Keep the ISO image files on like two differ...
