Re: On the way from FX7 to AX2000E

Thank you Stephan for the advice, I certainly will do.

Meantime, I have a couple of LCD monitor shots to demonstrate the advantage of minus gain control.

Please, look.

Re: On the way from FX7 to AX2000E

Thank you Doughie. I’m sorry for delay, but I’m still stuck with my students’ papers. I had merely a couple of hours to test the new camera. My reaction: it’s just amazing… The AX2000 makes so beautiful pictures that sitting only a meter away from my 52’ Sony Bravia TV it seems like looking through ...

Re: On the way from FX7 to AX2000E

Hi everybody, I finally got the chance to put my hands on the new AX2000E. I was buried with work checking my students’ test papers until midnight, so I had only a few hours at night and in the morning to play with the camera. Therefore, I can offer you now only my preliminary account (rather first ...

Re: On the way from FX7 to AX2000E

Hi halfpipe, how have you been? I’m still stuck in the university not home (where the package is waiting for me, at least my landlady told me so). I’ve caught a minute between lectures to write this… As to AVCHD vs HDV format war, I do not have personal opinion yet. I just repeated what I heard and ...

Re: On the way from FX7 to AX2000E

It turned out I have to pay some more 300 shekels for the package, otherwise it would be delivered only after holly Shabbat…

What I can say, rather repeat after Marx, “Religion is opium for masses”…

Re: On the way from FX7 to AX2000E

Thank you rickmotionpic, Doughie, and Stephan. I’ve just got a phone call from the local UPS headquarter: the parcel already arrived to Istanbul, Turkey. And I have to make ready 2,800 shekels (roughly $ 740) for tomorrow to pay custom duties and VAT… Ouch… Okay, it’s better to not think about such ...

On the way from FX7 to AX2000E

It’s official now: I’ve made my mind and put an order for a new HDR-AX2000E with B&H online shop. This costs me more than 4 thousands US dollars but … remorse and regret will come later. The last straw, which broke my internal voice of wisdom, was my FX7E died on me. Actually, I found a tiny pie...

Wow, what a familiar look! I always knew that HC1/A1 would be resurrected someday. That little cam was an exceptional product with unique capabilities…

Re: AX2000 picture profiles

How about the picture detail level in progressive mode, say HD 1080 25p FX? Is it okay (“punchy” as you put)?

Are you trying to say that the resolution of HDR-AX2000E is not up to your taste? What is your base reference camera, to which you compare AX2000E?
