Re: Sony HXR-NX30 - experiences?

I ceased to use UV filter protection for this reason (unable to fit one). That's a bit annoying, because with this Balanced Steadishot system, the lens is especially more difficult to reach & clean. Means more time spent using the microfiber tissue...

Re: Sony FDR-AX1 Consumer 4K Video Camera

When I saw the announcement, I thought... Oh boy, here we go again! - New screen resolution (is that another aliasing nightmare due to up/downscaling?) - New codec, no support from NLE software - Will be pain to edit on current computers (need to buy new hardware?) - New proprietary media (will be h...

Re: Which charger and battery for HDR CX100?

Don't take chances, get an original Sony battery and charger. Heard the recent news about cell phones exploding in mid-air? They seemed to be having non-original battery replacements. I'm not saying you would have such issues (and not saying you wouldn't), but... "Buy Cheap, Buy Twice" (co...

Re: How to connect HXR-MC2000 to Retina Macbook for Streamin

That would really depend on your particular configuration, but I remember with my old Sony DV camcorder (standard definition that is, like your GL1 I presume), the camcorder was able to output a live SD video stream over firewire, and the computer was able to process that live stream like a fancy, e...

Hi, there's another thread already on that exact topic: Sony HXR-MC2000 Hands-On Review. Adam can answer your questions over there. Cheers

Re: Mountain bike action video filmed at night

Hi,

Nice job! I like the colors a lot, and the exposure is very clean. Did you perform some color correction in post (in order to get the bike headlight look pure white), or instead was the headlight already calibrated to 6500K daylight maybe?

Re: Live Stream with Vixia HFM40

Oh, I understand your question now :-)

Not sure, you would need to test. I've never used that particular camcorder, but I would be surprised if it wouldn't be able to do that.

Re: Live Stream with Vixia HFM40

BLIP You cannot stream through an SD card, you can only store video on them. If you want to stream video, you would need to get the live video feed out of the camera, onto your computer, through the HDMI output probably. So you would need an HDMI input card (like Blackmagic Intensity - link on left...

Re: New Canon HF G30, XA20 and XA25 camcorders

Don't waste your time with the picture tests on slashcam.com, they tend to compare apples with carrots. Color balance is just wrong in every shot with every camcorder model, there isn't any shot that they're able to balance properly, so there's no point in these comparisons. Comparing bad shots with...

Re: Please help

@polopro : you may also want to share why you want to export onto tape. I didn't think anyone was still doing this these days (so many drawbacks and complications), there might be an easier / more reliable way to achieve what you want to do.
