Re: AE Setting
Facing quick changing lights with cloudy whether conditions, now I want to set the AE-4 to quickly adjust aperture when sun come in. Who can help me on basis of his/her experience in telling what is best practice? Well if you are using "AE shift" function at all, that indicates you are us...

Re: Camcorder vs. DSLR: an indie filmmaker's perspective
hi totally agree it does take some getting used to when using DSLR to shoot video. its quite different than a camcorder and you really have to work at it and think quite hard about focus a lot, exposure, camera-shake, etc. I have a D90 and that is much harder than the canon's as it will not ramp exp...

Re: SONY NEX-VG20EH 18-200mm
Happy New Year Doughie!! Do you know the video effect premier calls is to change the colours Any help would be superb, thank you. Not quite sure what you mean Dan. To change colors? You mean to increase SAturation? that should be easy enough to find. To change colors, you can mess around with Hue, ...

Re: TM900 vs TM90
I totally vote for the TM900. Its a super-bargain and it shoots really nice images and the kicker for me is it will shoot 1080 resolution at 60fps (frames-per-second). that is really unusual in a camcorder of that price, and it has been widely praised. I actually considered getting one myself a whil...

Re: Sony FX1 Very Low Gain
so what exactly is the problem with the image? I am guessing it is too dark, judging by your comment that it needs 18dB gain to compare to the 2nd FX1. any other issues? focus ok? is it sharp? color is ok? recording ok? plays back ok? My guess is this : A jammed ND filter. These are mechanical filte...

Re: SONY NEX-VG20EH 18-200mm
Excellent. -- Premiere 5.5 is one of the absolute best and most complete video editing packages available. Quite a few people i know have actually switched from Final Cut Studio to Premiere (principally because of the new direction Apple went with FInal Cut in its 'Final Cut Studio X' release, which...

Re: SONY NEX-VG20EH 18-200mm
Its very easy to bring up the levels in any video editing program if you want it a little brighter. I use Sony Vegas and if i wanted the whole thing a bit brighter, i would just use 'Color Curves' and drag the diagonal line a little upwards. You should have an equivalent function in pretty much any ...

Re: SONY NEX-VG20EH 18-200mm
More sensitivity to light (esp. low-light scenarios) => I wonder whether gain noise will be an issue actually - that will be intereresting to figure.] Good luck, keep us updated! It's a good point, and yes these new large sensor cameras will not suffer in any like the same way with gain being throw...
