Re: Can I use tV as recording monitor
Use the a/v port on the camera and plug it into a tv and it probably will work for you Best quality picture from component cables (red blue and green RCA type cables if your camera came with these Next best quality is the s-video cable If you don't have either of the above , then use the composite v...

Need Lanc + S-Video on a CX550V
In my usual world of HDV cameras the Lanc port is no big deal, it's there and does what it's supposed to. I've just added a nifty little (really little) camera to my arsenal, namely a Sony HDR-CX550v which is quite phenomenal. Beautiful hand held footage (looks nearly as smooth as though a tripod wa...

Re: XR520 questions
I bought a cx550v and lucky for me 480i is available at the a/v port always regardless of the recording mode
So this little (and I do mean little) puppy shoots beautifullly in low light and will produce Blu-ray, DVD and 8mp stills all at the same time.

Re: HXR-MC50e new pro version of CX550
bueno Say you are recording MTS internally. What's going on with the A/V port. If you get a minute try recording in avchd mode and plug the a/v (composite or svideo) cable into anything like a tv or a dvd recorder, just to see if a 480i signal is present all the time. On my FX7 and HC1 480i is avail...

XR520 questions
I notice that your XR520 records mpeg2 as well as avchd.
Will it output/record both formats at the same time?
btw How's your spanish coming along?

Re: HXR-MC50e new pro version of CX550
When recording to tape with the FX7 and HC1 and snapping a still photo there is no pause in video recording. However the video does pause during the time of the snapped pix if the camcorders are not recording to tape but rather recording to an external device. It's my understanding that The new gene...

Re: HXR-MC50 in stock
I'm wondering if in dual mode when a photo is snapped will doing so cause the video to pause for a heartbeat?

VideoReDo for avchd
For those struggling with simple cut and splice needs on their avchd files I downloaded http://www.xdcam-user.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/nex-clips.zip the two MTS files shot with the NEX-VG10 and used the non re-encoding (is that a double negative?) VideoReDo editor to join the files. Joined the...
