Re: SONY HVR-HD1000 crazy problem!
You do not need to use PMB to copy HDV movies to PC if you have Premiere. In fact, you shouldn't. If you are shooting to tape you should capture directly in Premiere. The HD1000U cannot shoot HDV video to internal memory. It has no internal memory. It uses Memory Sticks for stills only. If the OP me...

Re: SONY HVR-HD1000 crazy problem!
I'm going to give you some clues: The camera is not defective. It is not a buffer issue. It is not a settings issue, at least not one you can change. It has to do with how you are recording and capturing. It has to do with the phrase "Internal memory," which is not how the HD-1000 was desi...

Re: FX7 tape compartment trouble
The point here, it's an expensive piece of equipment and it fails in this way! I think anyone who's had any life experience at all will tell you the more expensive a piece of equipment is, the more likely it is to fail, not less. Ask anyone who's owned a Jag. Sony isn't doing a great job durability...

Re: FX7 tape compartment trouble
I can't speak to the QC issues you are experiencing with your particular unit. Did you buy it new or used? If new and it started acting up during the warranty period, then you should have had it looked at then. If afterwards, welcome to the world of consumer electronics. They are guaranteed to fail ...

Re: FX7 tape compartment trouble
Yes. It's broken. Get it to an authorized service center asap. You can't diagnose it yourself and you can't fix it. It's possible the contacts that tell the little motor that retracts the tape that the inner door is closed are dirty or have failed. Or something could be blocking the inner carriage. ...

Re: Which charger and battery for HDR CX100?
I agree. Whenever I buy a new camcorder, I always buy two of the biggest batt Sony makes for it and an extra charger. Cheap insurance in the long run. I never buy aftermarket knockoffs for any reason. It's never a bargain if it doesn't work, no matter how cheap it is.

Re: How to connect HXR-MC2000 to Retina Macbook for Streamin
I'm pretty sure the HDMI on every computer, even Macs, is out-only and meant for connecting to an external monitor. I think the only way to stream from this camcorder is via HDMI. USB is only for file transfer. I think Thunderbolt is out-only as well, which would explain why your adapter doesn't wor...

Re: LANC adaptor
I guess it's a matter of personal taste, but having had dozens of these things, including the Sonys, I think the Manfrottos are vastly superior to anything Sony has made. I happen to think the Sony Zoom lever is backwards on all their remotes, but that's just me. The Manfrotto RC remote (http://www....

Re: LANC adaptor
It's par for the Sony course. Why don't you just buy a new remote for your existing tripod? Or use the wireless remote that came with the cam?
To be fair, it's probably a pretty rare scenario that someone would be using a Sony tripod with a non-Sony cam.
