Re: Color correction - Tips & advice
I haven't ever used Film Effects, - i just saw it today and was playing around. I am pretty sure it's a standard plugin, i haven't got any extra plugins. it gives things like dust / scratches and 'jitter'. Something to use very rarely - bit gimmicky in my view.

Re: Color correction - Tips & advice
[*]A 3-way color correction tool (for shadows, mid-tones, and highlights) that can work both in primary color correction mode (on the whole image) and secondary color correction (only on parts of the image). Simbo - again just picking up on specific tools available in Vegas : The main tool (for Veg...

Re: Color correction - Tips & advice
The main aim of using color correction at the moment was to try and make the colours in my video 'pop' a bit more. I guess its just a matter of trying various settings to get the desired effect. Some great advice already written above. I will add that you can easily get a bit more punch by using Vi...

Re: Editing AVCHD clips
Hi John Coupla questions : you have Cineform NeoScene? or Neo HD? and you say that you can convert from AVCHD to Cineform AVI's from within Vegas? So you don't just start off by converting MTS files to Cineform AVI's outside of Vegas and then just importing those AVIs into Vegas? just trying to get ...

Re: Editing AVCHD clips
I use Vegas Pro and i quite like it. I do know that the ratio of render-time : realtime does vary hugely depending on what settings you use, and also how much RAM you have. I sometimes render to HD resolutions of around 720p and sometimes to SD resolutions of about 480p. I might do a coupla tests to...

Re: Sony wide angle lens question
Sony have now been through (to list just the ones that i know) the : VCL-HG0737X, VCL-HG0737Y, VCL-HG0737C, VCL-HGA07 and now the VCL-HGA07B. First 4 were all 37mm thread fit, and 0.7x mag. I just checked and apparently the VCL-HGA07 is now discontinued and has been apparently superceded by the &quo...

Re: Sony HDR CX550E AUTO FOCUS PROBLEMS
I think you're right - its just pro models that allow embedding of time/date. I remember a thread a while back about this sort of thing. But i've always thought this was a bit pointless from a LEGAL standpoint as the time/date embedded is simply the time/date that the user himself sets on the camcor...

Re: Outstanding video filmed on a Canon 7D
Shooting with a DSLR at knee level from a motorcycle, that must have been an unusual situation indeed. Yes i think actually the filmed Adam Colton is an expert longboarder himself and i think was either on a longboard like the rider or on rollerblades or something. not a motorbike for sure. He used...

Re: Sony HDR CX550E AUTO FOCUS PROBLEMS
just to echo Adam and Stephan, yes this is one situation where you need to take control and use manual focus. Lack of contrast will make any autofocus cam hunt around trying to get focus. Check your manual, switch to manual focus. Or one alternative trick is this : If the object you're shooting is f...
