Can I watch what I am recording on my tv at the same time of recording?

Use the a/v port on the camera and plug it into a tv and it probably will work for you
Best quality picture from component cables (red blue and green RCA type cables if your camera came with these
Next best quality is the s-video cable
If you don't have either of the above , then use the composite video cable (yellow)
During recording it's best to not attach the audio cables to the TV because you will get feedback
If your DVD recorder is attached to the tv, you can plug your camera cables into that and see the picture on the tv as well
