Please help! Uploading movies from Sony CX100 to Mac

Post by flyguy44 »

Forgive me if this has been covered before, but I am stumped trying to upload movies from Sony CX-110 camcorder to iMovies. I read that the newest version of iMovies fixes this problem so I just installed iMovie 11, version 9.0.4 and still no luck. Also upgraded to Mac OS X version 10.6.8 and installed Handbrake and still no go. Surely there is a way to get the Mac to recognize the AVCHD files on the Sony, but I don't know that solution.

Final Cut Pro X will process your AVCHD files just fine (I use it myself). Otherwise, you can use ClipWrap to transcode the AVCHD files to QuickTime (you will need to choose an installed codec though, like Apple Intermediate or ProRes).
