Sony HVR Z7U as WEB CAM

I am investigating setting up a live web streaming workflow using:

Sony HVR Z7U
Flash Media Encoder
Brightcove

Does anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to get the Flash Media Encoder application to recognize my Sony HVR Z7U over the firewire port?

Try setting the camcorder to record in DV mode (REC FORMAT = DV), connect to your computer through Firewire, then record live without a tape. It should behave like a webcam, and probably be visible to Flash Media Encoder (according to the Device Compatibility Matrix).

But no HD, if that's what you're aiming at.
