HVR-Z5U & HVR-Z5N: Is There a Difference?
HVR-Z5U & HVR-Z5N: Is There a Difference?
I just bought a Z5 but realized several days after playing with it the model was not a Z5U (the model I ordered), but a Z5N. I have spent several hours on many sites and still have not found a definitive answer to the difference between the two models. If the 'N' indicates the Japanese regional market why is everything in English (manual, camera menus, etc)?

N just means generic NTSC, for North America. The model specific to Japan is the J. Yours was probably destined for Canada.
The only difference might be the menus and the warranty, but in this case there probably is none.
