I notice that your XR520 records mpeg2 as well as avchd.
Will it output/record both formats at the same time?
btw How's your spanish coming along?
XR520 questions
Re: Hola Dougie
Yep the XR520 can record in MPEG2 as well, - this happens when you record in Standard-Definition mode. That's really sometimes useful - on some projects we only want Standard Def or other cams on a shoot are SD-only, then we all shoot SD mode which generates MPEG2 footage.halfpipe wrote:I notice that your XR520 records mpeg2 as well as avchd.

XR520 won't output MPG2 and MTS files at same time - it's one or the other.
Mi Español esta bien, güey. No es malo..pero no es bueno tampoco..
Re: HXR-MC50e new pro version of CX550
bueno
Say you are recording MTS internally.
What's going on with the A/V port.
If you get a minute try recording in avchd mode and plug the a/v (composite or svideo) cable into anything like a tv or a dvd recorder, just to see if a 480i signal is present all the time.
On my FX7 and HC1 480i is available from the a/v ports all the time regardless of the recording mode hd or sd
thanks

NB. I have split these posts relating to XR520 and 'dual-record' questions into a separate thread to keep the original MC50 thread related to the MC50.

I bought a cx550v and lucky for me 480i is available at the a/v port always regardless of the recording mode
So this little (and I do mean little) puppy shoots beautifullly in low light and will produce Blu-ray, DVD and 8mp stills all at the same time.
