Z5 AC-VQ1050 AC Adapter/Charger question

Hi All,

My first post and I hope it isn't OT.

I have a Z5 which comes with the AC-VQ1050 AC Adapter/Charger. The charger is a nice little unit and I tend to use that to charge batteries for not only the Z5 but the V1 and HD1k.

What I'd like to ask fellow forum members is does anyone know the part/model number of the car adapter lead so that I can buy one which will allow me to use the charger while out and about in the car should I need to?

I could make one up but I'm not 100% sure what the 12v DC input connection is. I suspect it is a DC plug (as opposed the the usual DC socket found on many electronic items that a DC plug, usually on the end of the PSU, plugs into).

It's part # 179218621, but Sony is out of stock.

May be your best best unless you can find the cord on eBay or at another vendor. I always buy an extra charger when I get a new cam so I can use one for charging batts while I am shooting (and powering the cam) with another. Unfortunately, this unit can't do both at once.

Thanks for the information, very much appreciated. I'll do as you suggest and google it for this side of the pond and see what I can find. I'll also check out Sony UK now I have a part number to go on.
