No, I think Stephan's point was that the E versions do ONLY 25 and 50, not 30 or 60.
Stephan, would just buying the NTSC versions solve your issues?
New Sony HDR-CX700V / HDR-CX560V / HDR-CX360V camcorders
Re: New Sony HDR-CX700V / HDR-CX560V / HDR-CX360V camcorders
I thought about that, but that would be grey market somehow - no support & service, and here 1 year parts & labor is mandatory by law, 2 years does happen, 5 years you can buy extra. I wouldn't go as far as buying a cam without guarantee. And can I be right against a whole continent - ooops, make that two (incl. Australia)?
The advantage & upside of this new HDR-CX700V is that, although more expensive than lower-end consumer cams, it is still affordable enough for me not to regret being forced upon with these improbable frame rates. Makes sense to get one of these, until future times when Sony et al. finally acknowledge that the Web does exist.

Hey, what's this - another one? Two? Camcorders galore!
These are entry-level models. Compared to the HDR-CX360V, the HDR-CX160 only has 16GB Flash memory, no 24p, no GPS, lower still photo resolution. And in addition to that, the HDR-CX130 (HDR-CX130E in Europe) has no built-in storage.

The CX700Ve for PAL countries will do 25p, 50p, 50i - but it won't do 60i, 60p, 24p
the CX700V for NTSC countries will do 24p, 60p, 60i - but not 50i, 50p, 25p
This will be the case for all the Sony consumer HD camcorders.
Nobody in NTSC countries will want to record in 50p or 25p but they may want to be able to play it.
People in PAL countries will want to record in 50p or 60p as 60p is more accepted globally, and highly likely to want to record in 24p.
I think PAL countries are a little screwed here, and I can see a lot of NTSC models being privately imported to PAL markets because they handle 60p and 24p.

Camcorderinfo has the full HDR-CX700V camcorder review.
Unimpressed. Hardly any improvement, and in some areas actually worse than last year's HDR-CX550V.

Personally i tend not to pay too much attention to camcorderinfo's tests. I have read many inaccurate and fundamentally skewed tests from them.
Just my viewpoint.
