Have i bought my 550D 5 weeks too soon,having said that i think the only real gain is the better articulating LCD .

There is plenty of settings to get the picture look that suits you best as i have found out with my 550D, a tripod or monopod at least is a must for with these things otherwise the jellow a and other bad effects can kick in, a lot harder work to film video but it can be more rewarding.

Well i have to say that i am dissapointed that the 550D i own cant match HDV footage from my HV30 in the sharpness resolution dept,i think comparison with 35mm film is a bit ott.

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/forumdisplay.php?f=202 no but there is plenty on here, i got better colour today by using the neutral setting and lowering the saturation one notch, the only downside in neutral it is a soft picture so i heve to up the sharpness a bit now,fiddly or what these DSLRS.

The first film i did with the my 550D out of the box had the worst colours of any machine i have had in 15 years,blue and whites were fine but if they were not predominant the picture had an awful yellow look to it,it was not the AWB that was working but everything with yellow was overcooked drying ...

With pinnacle 12 ultimate the hdv edited tapes i store on external drives burn to great menued BLU RAYS with my LG bd burner at full resolution.

never used split on my previous sony hdv cams or my current HV30,pinnacle or other programns capture hdv fine.
