Re: Upgrading to HD
If you want to record sound on the cam, you must unplug the included shotgun to use any other mic. External monitors can be very expensive and even though many say HD in their names, they may not be. Check the resolution carefully in the specs. One current favorite is from SmallHD but they aren't ch...

Re: Upgrading to HD
First of all, welcome! I hope you will find these boards useful. Congratulations on your decision to move to HD. I think once you see the quality available to you, you'll never go back. You should read the thread we have here on the Hands-on review of the MC2000 . You may or may not find this to be ...

You should be able to attach those photos directly to your post.

Re: Sony HVR-HD1000e Hd transfer wont work
While it's possible, it's very unlikely to be the cable, card, PC or Windows. If that were the case then DV wouldn't transfer either.
But I've been wrong before, so it is possible.

Re: Sony HVR-HD1000e Hd transfer wont work
I'm not familiar with Magix. Can you try in Vegas or HDVSplit and show the setting boxes from the editor?
I'm almost certain it's a setting in your editor, not the cam or Windows.

Re: Sony HVR-HD1000e Hd transfer wont work
You need to turn the power switch on your cam to PLAY/EDIT mode. Your LCD will say HDV OUT rather than HDV IN.
A still photo is much better than moving video if we're to read the settings on your screens.

DV is the wrong setting, I think.
Can you post a picture of the Cam's LCD while you are playing back, and also screen shots of your editor that shows all the settings?

Re: Sony HVR-HD1000e Hd transfer wont work
The most common treason for this is a settings mismatch. If your editor is set to look for DV and the cam is outputting HDV, the software won't see it. If you shot HDV and want to capture HDV without downconverting to DV, make sure i.Link Conv is OFF and make sure your editor is set to HDV capture a...

Re: Rain Video
The most important rule when shooting rain -- if you actually want to see the raindrops falling -- is that the rain must be backlit against a dark background. During the famous "Singin' in the Rain" dance sequence, the studio lights were just above the top of the frame, pointed directly at...

Re: Sony HXR-MC2000 Hands-On Review
Hey Chris -- The one thing I can guarantee you is the moment you buy your six cams, they will announce a better one, cheaper. It's inevitable. But no, I haven't heard anything, but that means nothing as Sony tends to keep these things pretty quiet until they announce. Perhaps some announcement in Ap...
