Live Stream with Vixia HFM40
Need assistance with live stream using Canon Vixia HFM40. Would like to record live event to SD card and stream through PC using ManyCam software. Do I need any special hardware for PC to receive stream from HD camera? This is my preferred equipment/software combination. Not sure if the HFM40 sends video stream out as recording to SD card? If this is not right equipment what HD solution suggested?

You cannot stream through an SD card, you can only store video on them.
If you want to stream video, you would need to get the live video feed out of the camera, onto your computer, through the HDMI output probably. So you would need an HDMI input card (like Blackmagic Intensity - link on left) and then check ustream.com regarding the internet streaming solutions.

Want to confirm. The live stream is through HDMI cable to Blackmagic, but I can record the same steam to SD card at same time?

Not sure, you would need to test. I've never used that particular camcorder, but I would be surprised if it wouldn't be able to do that.
