Hours on af101

Post by brandcook »

Hi I'm new to the forum, I am very inexperienced and about to purchase my first serious video camera the Panasonic af101 I am considering buying secondhand, but very nervous because of my lack knowledge with video.
The hour usage varies a lot on the cameras I have seen, all seem to sell for around the £2000 to £2.500 I know it makes sense to buy one with as low hour usage as possible but at what point of hour usage would it be considered not a good buy.

in the old days the main point-of-failure with camcorders was the tape drive mechanism. That was really the only mechanical part of a camcorder (more or less).
Cams like AF101 dont have tape-drive so dont worry too much about hours on the machine. General overall condition is probably the most important thing.

fine machine, large sensor, great image. perhaps not recommended to a complete novice though, its a pro camera.
