CX360v vs SR11

Hi everyone this is my first posting so bare with me if I mess something up lol. I am looking at 2 camcorders both used for the same price. One is the older SR11 and the other is the CX360v. Now, memory capacity aside, which of these two camcorders puts out a better image? I looked at the differences: 1/3" CMOS for the SR11 and 1/4" BSI CMOS for the 360v, higher bitrate for the CX360v, etc.. I am leaning slightly towards the sr11 because of the nightshot capability but if the back side illuminated sensor of the 360v is as good as Sony claims then it should do a lot better in low light. I still am not sure between the two, anyone wanna put their 2 cents in?

Ordinarily larger sensor is better, but here... the SR1 is 3 years older, and things improve a lot in 3 years esp. with the latest generation sensors. I'd go with the latest 360V.

I think I'd tend to agree. Even with the bigger sensor of the older cam, I'd think recent improvements in sensor tech would give the newer cam a better pic.

And yet....

If you look at out HD1000 vs. MC2000 shoot-out, I think these are the exact same two chips we are talking abut. In that case, the older cam provided a better image. So maybe the newest isn't the greatest. Then again, the 360 touts the Exmor R sensor while the MC2000 doesn't, so they may not in fact be the same.

Well what I did was buy both and I'm going to shoot them both in dark and light areas and see which one comes out on top. I also have a dsc-hx9v which has the 1/2 exmor r sensor and I do notice less noise in dark areas compared to what I see off of some people's YouTube videos shot with a sr11...

Well Got the CX360V yesterday and instead of getting the SR11 I saved $70 and found a clean CX-12. The video was pretty much what I expected. The CX360V in low light is noticeably brighter and less grainy, but in daylight it's hard to notice a difference. I think for what i am using the camcorder for the CX-12 will do just fine. Not to mention the CX360v is flashing the E:91:01 error code haha, it's being sent back. But thank you everyone for your input, much appreciated =)
