Sort of lost track of what's new and up coming
Is there something like the fx1000 which does both tape and tapeless recording?

You can add an MRC1k or DR60 to any cam with FW and an accessory shoe. But with the Z5 and Z7 (and S270), you can just snap the MRC onto the back without a cable, so record tape and tapeless together with a minimum of fuss.

Just for the record, while here in the U.S. Sony still lists the HVR-DR60 on their Web site (albeit without a price), B&H has it listed as, "This item has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.".acgold7 wrote:You can add an MRC1k or DR60 to any cam with FW...

Adam and Frank beat me to it, but yes the most direct option really is the FX1000's big brother which is the Z5 as it has a bespoke unit that plugs onto the camera giving tapeless recording onto memory cards.
